Modeling

“The secret to modeling is not being perfect. What one needs is a face that people can identify in a second. You have to be given what’s needed by nature, and what’s needed is to bring something new.” Karl Lagerfeld

I was in college and cocktail waitressing at the Holiday Inn and the Sheraton, when I was told I should model. I didn’t  know anything about it. A friend of a friend took some pictures and I went into NYC to meet with some agencies….I was nervous and scared. I will post some crazy stories at another time, but I did get an agency. Bethann Hardison took me on as one of her models and within 3 months I had left college with a semester to go and sold everything I owned to pay for a one way ticket to Paris. For almost seven years, I lived and worked in Paris, London, Milan and Hamburg and was sent to model in South Africa, Kenya, and all through Europe. There were ups and downs, but modeling was just a stepping stone to another dream of mine…acting, hosting sports shows and reporting.
